Screen Resolutions

Points are abstract units that are used by developers or designers to position elements on a screen.

They are often multiplied by 1x, 2x or 3x when the designer exports an image of a screen to preview it on a device or when the designer hands over assets to the developer.

When the points match what the device renders, we call the result the (physical) pixels.

It's almost always recommended to design in points rather than physical pixels. This allows flexibility to export to any device with a different multiplier without losing details.

When exporting your images to Marvel, we always recommend exporting them to the correct pixels to ensure they are crisp when viewed on high-resolution screens.

Changing your resolution

In Marvel, you can change your device resolution by changing the device frame in your project settings. If you do change this setting and you didn't export your images to the correct pixel resolution, you will have to upload your images again.
