Get started with Marvel for Android

The Marvel Android app allows you to create prototypes offline, manage your account, turn hand-drawn sketches and drawings into interactive prototypes, and create high-quality, high-fidelity prototypes on-the-go wherever you are!

Your prototypes can also be viewed offline so you can present and play without worrying about your internet connection.

Get Started

To create a project on the Android app

  1. Tap on the 'Create your first project' button on the homescreen
  2. Give your project a name > select done
  3. Select a device type > hit the tick in the top-right hand corner

Add your screens

To add screens to your project:

  1. Tap on your project thumbnail to open it
  2. Tap on the green + button in the bottom right-hand corner

To add by Canvas

  1. Click on the Canvas option and follow the instructions here

To add from Camera 

  1. Tap on the camera option 
  2. Tap on the camera operator at the bottom to take a picture. If you don't want to keep this one, tap on the x in the top left hand corner. 
  3. If you're happy with the image, tap on the tick in the top right-hand corner 
  4. Crop and rotate as wished 
  5. Tick in top right-hand corner to save image 
  6. This will now be added to your project 

Import your images

Tap on the import button to choose from your

  1. Photo album 
  2. Dropbox
  3. Google Drive

Link your screens together

To link your screens in the Android app:

  1. Tap the screen you would like to begin with, this will open the screen into the prototype Editor
  2. In the Editor, tap anywhere on the screen to add a Hotspot. A Hotspot is the interactive part of the screen which will allow someone to move between screens and navigate your prototype
  3. The Hotspot will show up in red, you can move this to any area on your screen and resize and reshape this too
  4. Once you are happy, tap Link
  5. Choose the destination screen - this is the screen you want the Hotspot to transition to
  6. A green tick will appear when the destination screen has been selected
  7. Next choose your Transition
  8. When you are happy with your choices, select the tick in the top right corner - your Hotspot should now be in green
  9. You can continue adding Hotspots to your screens in the same way by tapping the arrows on either side of the image in the Editor
  10. Tap the back button in the top left of the Editor to take you back to your prototype overview

Play your project

Now that your prototype is linked, you can play your prototype and bring it to life!

  1. Long press (tap and hold) is a function used to start a project. It is also used to exit a project.
  2. If you're trying to start your prototype and see this image, tap the screen with one finger and hold for a second - this will start your prototype
  3. When you're finished playing your prototype, tap and hold again to exit

Share your project

Once your project has been created, you can also send it to other people to view. To share your project from within the Android app:

  1. Tap on any project to open it
  2. Tap on the vertical ellipsis in the top right-hand corner > share

Delete your project

To delete a project in the Android app:

  1. Tap on your project thumbnail to open it 
  2. Select the vertical ellipsis (3 dots) in the top right hand corner
  3. Delete
