Handoff FAQ

Can I download assets in different sizes? To download assets, you'll need to mark them as exportable in Sketch. Find out how to do this here.

Download in different formats e.g. svg and png:

If in Sketch, you mark an asset as exportable as png and as svg, we'll give you the option to download both of these formats in the Handoff tool.

To download different sizes

You can export the same element in multiple sizes e.g. 1x, 2x etc. and we will have all of those available to download individually and as a ZIP. This is great, as it allows you to ensure icons and images will look crisp across different screens and devices, and developers have easy access to all the assets.

Can I access the code in different languages?
We currently support code export in the following formats:

  1. CSS - measurements are displayed in pixels
  2. Android (XML) - measurements are displayed in dp
  3. SWIFT - measurements are displayed in points

We're planning on adding additional support for React Native and Objective-C in the coming months.

Why can't I access Handoff when viewing a prototype?Handoff is currently only available on the Enterprise plan.

Handoff is automatically enabled for images synced from Sketch or images created using our Design tool.

Note: If the designs haven’t been uploaded using Marvel for Sketch or our Design tool, then the button will be greyed out.

Which version of Sketch are you using?
Handoff is supported with our Sketch plugin version 7 and above. If you're using an older version of the plugin, please update your plugin by following these instructions. You can then re-sync any artboards to enable Handoff for them.
